Webcom Communications Corporation - News Releases

Announcing . . .

E-Drive, a new magazine for engineering, technical and management professionals who design, develop and maintain electric-powered vehicles and mobile equipment, has been announced by Webcom Communications Corp.

"Demands for cleaner, quieter vehicles powered by rechargeable fuel systems are driving technology advancements in electromotive power systems of vehicles and mobile equipment for both consumer and industrial uses," according to David Webster, Webcom president. "The growing attention to these diverse applications and their evolving power systems have created a need for a new publication that focuses on the sophisticated components, infrastructure and technologies that are being developed and need to be maintained."

The magazine will circulate to engineers, technicians and managers with vehicle manufacturers and fleet owners who are involved with the research, design, manufacture, service, operation and components of vehicles powered by electric and hybrid fuel systems. This includes the emerging class of "on-road" automotive vehicles, such as electric autos, busses, bikes and scooters; as well as "non-road electric vehicles and transportation systems such as battery-powered industrial lift trucks and self-propelled equipment, golf and utility carts, neighborhood vehicles, power wheelchairs, transit and automatic guided vehicles, aerospace vehicles and boats.

The editorial content will focus on new technology and product development in energy storage and power generation; drives, controls, motors and associated vehicle systems; charging and infrastructure development; as well as materials and components related to the motive power system.

The magazine will begin publication in May 2000 with a distribution of 10,000 copies worldwide.
